Here are two photos...one of the braid end and the other of the ladder.
Had a e-mail from Issiaih Yott of the Kregel windmill factory museum he thought it looks as if it could be a ELI Tower. Any thoughts?
Thanks

I saw that it could possibly maybe be an Eli. I had that on the short list.
The picture of the splice right above this post looks home made from what I can see. Not like any other I have run across. On the previous page (2) the splice, I will check what I have. I have both Dempster and Stover.
That flat steel strap step in the above picture I don't recognize. Sure would be hard on the feet.
t.hoop, you are 1 -1/2 hrs away from me.

Yes, the flat steel step would be hard on the feet but men were men back then, with hard boots! lol
Thanks again to everyone for the help.

This could be a Fairbanks-Morse tower. I bought a similar tower from WB several years ago, so it’s likely this is what your tower is. It also has the same type of wire tension bolts that go through the grits. Ladder also is similar. The tower top on my WG had the flat plates riveted. Your tower looks like it may have had an early dempster tower cap adapted.

I have a 3 legged tower with the twist wire and the flat step ladder. I'll have to go check it out today.

Thanks Lance. I knew I'd seen those tensioners before somewhere.
Did'nt get a look at the tie-wire splice yet. Going to dr for a bit of surgery.
