Good evening. I just joined site and was hoping someone would help ID this tower?
Any help would be appreciated.
Trying to ID this tower. 20 feet tall, 2.5 inch angle supports, braided wire support.
ID tower
Re: ID tower
Looks to be the handi work of a local blacksmith/windmiller or farmer to reinforce the tower. And looks like old wagon wheel cut with a cold chisel.
Re: ID tower
Any photos of the storm stay or tower cap?
Re: ID tower
I just acquired one with the same type of wire brace tensioners .ladder looks the same with flat steel rungs. It has what appears to be a dempster type tower cap and storm stay but doesn't have the dempster parts numbers embossed in the cast.
Re: ID tower
Where is Windy? I bet he would Know.
Re: ID tower
The mill appears to be a double gear Butler. Not sure this tower fits the Butler. Could it be a early Dempster?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: ID tower
T.hoop,
Here are a few photos of a double gear Butler that is up several miles from me. Maybe you could compare what you have to this.
