Was sitting in the dirt since 1989. Samson S, 10-foot Brought it home from a friend's farm this past week end. NO tail or fan at all. Just the head. Have no idea what luck I'll have getting the head back in good shape to say nothing of finding a complete tail and fan. Ha. Oh well; I've been a life-long sucker for rusty iron. I have it inside partially hanging on my shop crane. I've been chipping dirt and blowing it out with air. Before I introduce any liquid penetrant, etc., I'm trying to get all the "dry" stuff out I can. All gears try to turn as does the main shaft. I guess that's a good start. I think I'll take a lot of photos then take off some of the more fragile parts like the brake arm, etc., before anything gets broken. I wish I had a good exploded diagram of the internals and how everything is connected. I expect a lot of trouble freeing up shafts and pins, etc. Tips appreciated. I have no way to, "dunk," it in a penetrant bath, so will be stuck with spraying in a lot of diesel/ATF solution or something similar . Thoughts??? Thanks, Dennis in E WA state.DSC_0445 1.JPG
