Historical Marker
Historical Marker
I saw 5 years of a journey end yesterday. I'm sure I'll never have another day like it in my lifetime. We unveiled the Meritt Drane Historical Marker, which I wrote the application for. What made the day extra special is a Great Great Grandson and a Great Great Great Grandson came for the dedication. I wonder how many other cities or towns in Texas have markers for a Dad and his son as we do now in Corsicana.

Congratulations Wayne!

Thanks Fellas! If anyone wants to watch a video of the Dedication my Daughter-in-Law posted a you tube video.
A lady who grew up at the State Orphans home Lynn Taylor spoke. She said during the depression parents would bring their kids to the home and leave them. They couldn't feed them. She said after the depression was over some parent came and got there kids, but some didn't. At one time they had 800 kids at the home. !888-1982
