Need Help Identifying

Have a part you can't identify? Did your parts get mixed up in the shop? Curious if that chunk of metal is a part you should keep? Not sure what kind of windmill or tower you have? Post photos of the mystery object here for the community to help identify.

Need Help Identifying

Post by seager »

I recently joined this group so if I am not following proper protocols let me know.
I recently purchased my father’s farm and was trying to identify his old windmill. I was unable to find any markings other than these attached in the pictures. Anyone familiar with these markings I would appreciate any information on what windmill manufacturer would have used them. Hard to read but markings are OK90 and OK11. They were located on the main arm area. Sorry for my lack of information/knowledge.

Challenge Co made an OK mill. Don't know if thats relatable, but yes, more pictures would help.
Call Dan Benjamin for parts. P M me for the phone number. IF YOU TALK TO HIM, AND HE HELPS YOU, THEN BUY FROM HIM. IT CREATES GOOD KARMA.

Looks similar to my Flint and Walling just different letters ahead of the numbers. Maybe indicating a different size mill.

I’m still leaning towards a F&W 8’ Steel Star direct stroke as the “crank wheel” is OK90 and the “lower guide” is OK11. If the main casting is OK1, I’d be convinced based upon a parts list, but additional photos would be helpful.

10’ parts prefix = AK
12’ = BK
14’ = C
16’ = D
