A602
A602
As Mike had said in the listing post, someone has definitely been in here before. Both pitmans had been snapped. No bearing left on the big gears and pitmans pretty sloppy. But surprisingly very little play on the main shaft.

Re: A602
Looks to be in decent shape.
When you pull the hub/shaft, you can check the main bearing babbit as you’ll need to add a spout washer that is either missing or broken. When it fell, is the mast pipe straight or did it bend in the fall?

Re: A602
Is the bearing cover missing on the Bull gears ?
Re: A602
I saw that, but the angle of the photo had me second guessing myself.
Edit:
It looks like it is there.
Re: A602
Mast pipe looks nice and straight, head rotates all the way around pretty easily.
The big gears rub the bottom/side of the case from sitting so low without a bearing, but have not worn into it yet. Only thing broken seems to be the brake arm and these chunks of metal that were in the bottom of the gearbox.

Re: A602
And heres all the bent stuff. Not awful, are the 3 smashed sections worth straightening or just find some decent used sections?

Re: A602
Okay i can see the bearing cover now. V arms can be straightened as far as the three wheel sections yes also but if you can find some cheap enough much easier. Furl cast can be welded. Good luck !!!
Re: A602
I’d still take the gearbox off the mast pipe and look the mast pipe over. Good time to check the turntable cup and washer too.
Like Dan said, those three sections can be straightened, but there are enough that come up on marketplace or Craigslist in Texas that it would be easier to find replacements.
I’d take the gearbox apart to clean it and assess the main bearing. The hub/shaft needs to come out anyway to replace the snoot washer. Those side access plugs will make it easy to remove the pinion gear pins.
