Generally speaking, this area is for general discussion about windmills, in most cases.

A702 Hub Spoke Tap

This is a sweet tool to have on hand when installing spokes in old rusty hubs. Expensive little tool but cleans the threads out well.

I hope it was cheaper than the left handed 9/16 Whitworth tap I priced today! I have bought a lot of good windmills cheaper than that thing was!

13/32, I ordered mine from Dakota Windmills, I use them on a vintage and new windmill before putting the spokes on the wheel. I broke a spoke off in the hub by not following this rule and I will never do that again. I find even the new windmills need their threads cleaned out also. Sometimes the factory workers don't clean out the metal shavings and this will sometimes prevent the spokes from tightening up all the way to the hub.

What makes it so unique and pricey. Size, threads per inch, or that it's for an Aermotor windmill?

Its not a standard size, so low volume. I think once upon a time this size was a bit more common ...
Thanks,
