Generally speaking, this area is for general discussion about windmills, in most cases.

Wow if it's really a Sampson, that's a one of a kind.
Call Dan Benjamin for parts. P M me for the phone number. IF YOU TALK TO HIM, AND HE HELPS YOU, THEN BUY FROM HIM. IT CREATES GOOD KARMA.

Hope this link works. I figure this is the same “Sampson” or more commonly know as Samson previously noted on Craigslist. It is big.

What you can't get Windy to come along and grap one end? Yes that would certainly dress up someone's yard.Looks to be in good shape. The best thing it's already on the ground.

I've been looking for a big Samson for some time. Unlikely I'd ever find one in my backyard.

Logistics are an issue with this mill. I could transport it in a Penske box truck. Would need the help of a couple of folks and the use of a tractor to disassemble and load the tower and mill.

If anyone is interested in assisting in the endeavor let me know. If the effort looks feasible I'll plan a trip to investigate the mills condition.

Paul,
I'm only bout 45 minutes from Bastrop. I'd be happy to lend a hand. Might be able to get my brother and my son to help if they're available.

Regards,

I'm more than 45 minutes away but would come help if needed! I love adventures. The only day in my retired life I have given away is Mondays. If you couldn't get it all in one load I could bring trailer and haul part of it to Corsicana until you could get back. It would be a little closer to Collinsville. Anyway you come down you would be coming close to my neck of the woods.

I rebuilt the 18' Samson at Shattuck. You will need a good size loader and truck. No more big ones for me lol.

If I'm reading the literature correctly, the weight on the 18' is 2800 lbs. 20' is 4800 lbs. :o Who knows what the tower weighs.

For those that have experience with big mills....MAS and Ron Stauffer... any recommendations or advice on rescuing a mill of this size?
