ID help

Have a part you can't identify? Did your parts get mixed up in the shop? Curious if that chunk of metal is a part you should keep? Not sure what kind of windmill or tower you have? Post photos of the mystery object here for the community to help identify.

ID help

Post by rockingjl »

Wow, feels good to be back in attendance. Thanks Paul!

An older friend of mine has talked about his Aermotor windmill every year for about 5 years when he attends our Hit & Miss Engine workshop. So since I am only working COVID hours, every other week, he decided to bring to me to work on. Well it does not look like any Aermotor I have worked on, it did come with an Aermotor tail, so looking for some help please. Thanks guys!

I did find casting numbers A14, A11 on 2 of the main pieces

I'm Guessing STOVER. Stover what? I don't know. Will check books. Sure has a lot of Stover likenesses.

ok. thanks. Stover has braces like that on the Ideal Steel. Also, Stover is known for a tailspring setup similar to that. I just am not sure if Stover ever had a single gear setup. I know nothing about USWE. If I ever found one around here I'd check myself for dreaming.
