If you don't have a swivel for the top of the chain to rotate, and the bottom of the chain to not rotate, you will have a very problematic situation. Get a pullout tube and swivel. Your mill will thank you in the near future.

I learned on old rusty Dempsters. If you can understand those, and how design of them works, you can pretty well work on any.

That really sucks! Unless the main case is broken, it can usually be fixed. I don't know why people try to steal those. It has happened in my area also.
