I worked on my mill today. The only thrust bearing I could find was metric and was a little larger than the shaft on the I.D. So I machined 2 washers to capture the bearing. I left .100 thousands between the 2 washers. The washers fit the shaft and are cupped to hold the races. This will keep the bearing centered. See pics.

Thanks guys. I am just figuring it out as I go. I did have to do some technical mathematics to get the dimensions correct for the gap between the hub and main casting.

Got a little more done today. I machined the bed plate as it had wear on it. There was plenty material on thickness, so that wasn't an issue. Next I will machine washers to fit the bearing and the bed plate. Not sure how I want to that yet.

I worked on the mill today. It's been a while. My lathe broke down and had to wait for a part to come in. Finally got the part and made the washers for the bed plate bearing. It seems to sit up a little higher than I thought it would, but I think it will work just fine. See pics.
