Re: Samson

I'm about 40 minutes from Bastrop, be glad to help if I can. I looked at it a couple weeks back. You're going to need a boom with some capacity to reach out over and lift to get the weight off the vanes to disassemble. Flatbed trailer would be a lot easier to load. Its hard to assess the condition t...

Re: Wind Power Light Co. model 35

That’s a great pic. It’s a very elegant design for 1930s. The cast aluminum governor spring cover is usually broken or missing.

Re: Wind generator enthusiast

Hey Jim, glad to have your wind gen experience on the new forum. I have similar interests in the wind gen company histories. Would love to see pics of your early Wind Power Light Co machine or parts. I have an early one, believe its a 2500W.

Wonder Model A Tail

Looking for a picture of an Elgin Wonder model A tail, with original graphics. I'm working on a stencil. I've noted the one shown in the Wonder manual (attached).
Thanks

Stover Mfg, Freeport, IL

If anyone at the trade fair was wondering why the wind charger guy had a Samson on his trailer, here’s the story. A picker and antique friend in Freeport, IL rescued the Stover Mfg buildings from being demolished and wanted a Samson to decorate his historic palace. Amazing old buildings with lots of...

Re: 6' Wincharger Props

Thx, I’m always looking for any size props or ones from lesser known wind charger companies. Right now I’m short on 8 ft props. Also on the lookout for a Hebco prop. I’ll be at trade fair if you have props or other parts you want to sell or trade. Send me pics ahead of time and I’ll let you know if ...

Re: Salesman Sample for trade

I believe the one with the case went for $3500 and the tall one sold for $12.5k plus 22% auction fees.

6' Wincharger Props

Anyone that has stood next to a 6V Wincharger in high wind has most likely had second thoughts about standing in the plane of rotation, especially if it's an original 80 yr old prop. They can get up over a 1000 rpm before the air brake governor kicks in. I started making 6' props about 5 years ago w...
